The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations to ensure that the political direction is reflected in the region's various operations. In this way, Region Uppsala can fulfill its role, both regionally and nationally.

Our Operations

The Accounting Group is responsible for ongoing bookkeeping and year-end work within Region Uppsala's shared service center. We are eight employees who together possess a broad competence and experience in the field of finance, and we are located in Uppsala Business Park. We are now looking for you who want to become our new colleague and grow with us.

Your Mission

Are you looking for an exciting job in accounting and want to help develop the finance function within Region Uppsala? We are undergoing a transformation journey and are now looking for someone who wants to make a real difference.

In the role of accountant, you will work broadly within accounting with both ongoing accounting and monthly and annual closings. Below are examples of commonly occurring tasks within the group:

• Ongoing accounting such as importing bookkeeping files and bank payments
• Account reconciliations and quality assurance of bookkeeping
• Support and advice to the business in accounting matters
• Asset accounting, tangible and financial fixed assets
• VAT accounting
• External projects
• Drive improvement initiatives that develop working methods and processes
• Reporting to SCB
• Management of government grants
• Work with monthly and annual closings

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree or equivalent education in the field of finance. You should have several years of experience working in finance, for example in an accounting department, shared service center, audit firm, or as an accounting consultant. You should have worked with ongoing accounting as well as monthly closings and feel confident in your role as an accountant. Knowledge of Unit4ERP (Agresso) is an advantage.

Your Competence

As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and self-driven, with a clear focus on quality and results. You enjoy working both hands-on and being advisory in accounting matters. In your role, you will have a lot of contact with colleagues in several parts of Region Uppsala, which means that your ability to collaborate and communicate is an important piece of the puzzle for success. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish. We also appreciate if you are interested in system support and efficient working methods.

The tasks require that you are meticulous, structured, and a team player. To succeed in the role, you need to have the ability to see the bigger picture and the broader perspective in your work. We place great importance on your personal qualities in this recruitment.
